Monday 29th September 2008 Location: Hartshill, Warwickshire, Coventry Canal Today: 7 miles, 11 locks. Total distance: 1759 miles. Total locks: 1247 Pulled the pins at 07:00 and headed on to the Atherstone locks. The weather was a bit on the miserable side as we set off but it soon cleared and the sun came out. We had a very pleasant trip up the 11 locks that form the flight and only met two other boats as they were starting down near the top. A lot less boating traffic today, perhaps a lot of folk have seen the Atherstone lock keeper’s note (photo below) about there just being 12 weeks left until Xmas!! Moored up at a lovely spot near Hartshill, we have never moored here before. Current Mooring There must have been some summer ???
