Ten Bob Note

Tuesday 30th September 2008

Location: Brinklow, Warwickshire, Oxford Canal

Today: 16 miles, 1 lock. Total distance: 1775 miles.  Total locks: 1248

Today marks the end of the daily updates to the Ten Bob Note diary pages (I still dislike the word blog).

We are now heading into the winter British Waterways stoppages period and our intention is to spend the winter around Rugby, Banbury, Braunston, Market Harborough etc. as it gives us a good cruising range inside the proposed stoppages.

As we have spent a lot of time inside our proposed winter cruising area in the past, there is unlikely to be much new to report on the Ten Bob Note diary pages. For this reason, my intention is to only add new pages as and when there is something new and of interest to record.

Also, if I am to be honest, I am beginning to find the (almost) daily updates to the site a bit of a chore as after a hard day cruising (7 hours today), I am not much feeling like sitting at the keyboard for the 45 minutes that it usually takes to process the photos, update the web site then upload the lot to my web server.

Finally, I am sure that those poor soles that follow my ramblings must be getting sick of the “We pulled the pins at 07:00” drivel as I know I am :-)

On any future updates to the web site, I will trigger the RSS feed so that a notification goes out.

Looking forward to a nice restful winter around some of our favourite spots on the canal system.
