Location: Thrupp, Oxfordshire, Oxford canal

Today: 10 miles, 7 locks. Total distance: 601 miles.  Total locks: 436

Cold, Some sunny spells, showers late afternoon. Reasonable t-mobile 3g reception here

Quite a busy day today. Pulled the pins around 09:00 and cruised down to Thrupp. We decided to head for Thrupp as we thought that it was time that we chanced another pub meal in we had heard good things about Thrupp.

We had trouble finding moorings when we arrived at around 16:30, much of the tow path is given over to long term moorings. We ended up finding a spot closer to Kidlington than it is to Thrupp. Our mooring is right beside a noisy main road, what a contrast from the lovely quiet spot we had last night.

Being fairly late in the day when we arrived at Thrupp, there was not much point in travelling on further looking for better moorings. Also, if we go much further we will be in the town of Kiddlington which is likely to much more built up ??

We have been advised that the Boat Inn serves good home cooked food so we are going to give it a try this evening – fingers crossed.

Current mooring - there is a busy main road just to the right
