We left Upton upon Severn around 10:30 thinking that we would do a few miles then moor up early – big mistake!!! Moorings on the Severn are few and far between so we ended up travelling all the way down to Gloucester. There are a few mooring spots outside some of the pubs along the river but they were all full when we passed.
Moorings at Gloucester docks are restricted to 48 hours after which you have to pay. The lock keeper at Gloucester lock handed us a leaflet informing us that there is a charge of £10 per night (price varies by length) for every night after the first two. We plan to visit Gloucester mid next week so will save our free 48 hours until then.
