Ten Bob Note

Saturday 9th May 2009

Location: Teddington, London, River Thames

Today: 10 miles, 3 locks. Total distance: 2175 miles.  Total locks: 1439

Pulled the pins around 10:30 and continued on down river to Teddington lock.

I spoke to the lock keeper at Limehouse yesterday and he recommended that we leave Teddington lock at 04:30 in the morning to ensure that there is sufficient depth of water to enable us to pass over the lock cill at Limehouse – an early start!!!

Went for a walk back along the Thames path to Kingston town for a look around, there is a very good selection of shops there.

Had a visit from a Mr Pepper this afternoon (sorry, I forgot your first name – a short term memory problem on my part!!). Mr Pepper follows my ramblings….. Very nice to have met you and chatted with you.

We have passed and been passed by this guy several times over the last week. He is rowing from Letchlade to Tower bridge for charity. So far he has raised over £22k, a fantastic effort. He will be setting off from Teddington on the last leg of his journey at 05:00 tomorrow morning.
