Ten Bob Note

Thursday 2nd April 2009

Location: Fenny Compton, Warwickshire, South Oxford Canal

Today: 4 miles, 0 locks. Total distance: 2042 miles.  Total locks: 1373

The fire went out last night around 11:00, my fault, it was a warm evening and I forgot to keep an eye on it and when I discovered it had gone out I was feeling too lazy to re-light it. Woke up this morning to a cold boat – well, cold by the usual standards, the temperature in the cabin was a cool 14 degrees C, it’s usually up around 18/19 C first thing in the morning. I won’t make the same mistake again for a while….hopefully.

Pulled the pins around 10:30 and moved down to Fenny Compton.

After lunch, we walked into Fenny village to have a look around and to pick up a few odds and ends at the Co-Op shop. The shop also has a free to use hole in the wall cash machine which is handy as the next nearest cash machine close to the canal is probably Banbury.
