Monday 6th August 2007 Location: Trentham, Staffs Today: 10 miles, 9 lock. Total distance: 364 miles. Total locks: 330 Warm, a few short showers.. Up early this morning as we wanted to get back to Stoke on Trent to meet the guys from Wilson’s. Pulled the pins just after 07:00 and arrived at Etruria junction at just after 10:00. Dumped rubbish and took on water while waiting for the guys to arrive. They turned up at 10:30 as arranged, even though they had a few problems finding the access road to the canal. They fitted the frame and made up the templates for the covers. They left just after 12:30. The covers should be ready in a couple of weeks or so, at which time they will return and fit them. All in all, they have been a pleasure to deal with and have been more than happy to make a few changes from the standard design that I have requested. Left the junction at around 13:00 and headed south down the Trent and Mersey to the first place that looked like a reasonable mooring for the night. All in all, it has been a long and busy day.
