Decided to move on up to Rugby this morning.

We anticipated the canal being busy today but were surprised at just how busy it was. It was a bit like the M25 motorway for most of the morning with most of the boats heading towards Braunston. Can’t understand why it is so busy, don’t think it is because of the school holidays as most of the boats were adults only.

One disappointment, 20 minutes after setting off, the oil pressure warning buzzer started going off when at tick-over. Whatever the problem is, it wasn’t the oil pressure switch. Will have to talk to the Nani Diesel importers on Monday for advice.

Another very hot day again today, uncomfortably hot.

Spent an hour at the Hillmorton water point filling up the tank. A very slow tap and quite a few boats queuing for it.
