Ten Bob Note

Monday 16th March 2009

Location: Brinklow, Warwickshire, Oxford Canal

Today: 4 miles, 0 locks. Total distance: 2006 miles.  Total locks: 1361

Pulled the pins at around 12:00 and headed north to Brinklow.

An absolutely beautiful day today, it was actually warm enough to be in a t-shirt only at times while the sun was out.

Took Archie for a nice 4 mile round trip walk around Brinklow this afternoon, GPS track here.

It looks like the boating season is now under way now as there have been a few hire boats out and about over this last few days, good to see that they are getting such lovely weather for their holidays.

Current Mooring

Nice canal side cottages

Photos for Mark H. Mark is interested in photos of long term moorings with gardens/land attached. These ones are a couple of miles north of the Newbold tunnel.

Tuesday 17th

Another nice day today weather wise, although, not as nice as it has been of late.

Took Archie for a nice circular walk across the fields taking in the Malt Kiln farm shop on the way. GPS track here. The farm shop is worth a visit and the prices are fairly competitive.

Brinklow is a good spot for walks as there is no shortage of public footpaths across the fields, most of which are well sign posted and maintained.
