It was quite noisy during the night, the police helicopter was hovering overhead for about half an hour around 03:00 this morning.

Friday 14th

Took the dogs out for a long walk this morning as they didn’t get out much yesterday due to the wet weather.

We found an old disused railway line that I knew went towards Long Itchington and the canal (GPS track here). We ended up walking a lot further than I had planed as it turned out to be just over nine miles round trip, I should have consulted the maps before setting off along it. Still, the weather was nice and it was a very pleasant walk. It wasn’t quite so pleasant for Archie and Mabel on their return to the boat as they were both filthy and had to each have a shower – not their favorite activity.

The disused railway line is very walkable for most of it’s length, it is in better shape than the tow paths – to be fair though, we have had an awful lot of rain over the last week and the tow paths get more traffic.
