Ten Bob Note

Sunday 20th January 2008

Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Grand Union

Today: 5 miles, 10 locks. Total distance: 1059 miles.  Total locks: 691

Pulled the pins at around 08:30 and headed down the Foxton flight. As was the case with the Watford flight, we were in luck and the whole flight was in our favour. We had a quick chat with the lock keeper and he told us that one boat had come up the flight the day before and the day before that nothing came through all day. Not many boats on the move at the moment.

Headed in to Market Harborough and moored up at the last available visitors mooring beside the basin. Filled the tank up with water as it was almost empty. It took over two hours to fill the water tank as the pressure coming out of the tap was extremely low. The water was just trickling out of the hose. I don’t remember the pressure being so low when we stopped here last May.
