Odd heavy shower in the morning, lovely in the afternoon. Warm

Met up with son Glenn and his girlfriend Maysa last night and spent a pleasant evening with them.

Very impressed with Birmingham as a place to spend a day or two. The canal around Gas Street is lovely with lots of pubs and restaurants.

Moved on this morning around 09:30, heading for Wolverhampton. Met up with nb Midnight, we have passed each other about 3 times in the last few months. He advised that we don’t moor in or around Wolverhampton over night as he had his mooring ropes cut there one night. He advised that we spend the night at the Black Country museum but there was a good chance we would have to breast up with another boat for the night as it gets busy.

We ended up turning off the Birmingham Main Line canal and mooring up just north of the Netherton tunnel as it is fairly secluded here and looks safe for the night.

We are heading for the Shropshire Union canal and have two choices. We can reverse half a mile back out of this arm and head down through Wolverhampton and the 21 lock flight or we can continue on through the tunnel and head down through Dudley and on to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal. If we go the later route, we will be back tracking on the Staffs and Worcester and we don’t really like doing that. Will decide in the morning which way to go.
